ONLINE ADVERTISING STRATEGIES

Online advertising has become very popular in the recent times due to the use of smartphones by people and the reach it has. Internet advertising has the power to reach people worldwide and make an impact with a single touch from any part of the world. There are many methods as to where they can advertise to get the maximum reach to help people get what they need. A few of these options include social networking sites like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and so much more.
An average person has a screen time for a week is 3 hours and 15 minutes. And this is only the average. It differs from person to person where it increases by a lot of time.
Social Media: Instagram is an app that is now growing by the day with millions of users. If a person uses Instagram for at least once per day, he’s put through roughly two to three ads minimum. So there is a chance for it to reach people. The thing about social media is, it subconsciously plays in one’s mind. If I’ve been seeing an advertisement for a new vacuum cleaner, then every time cleaning is mentioned someone this pops up, creating awareness about this new product that you saw subconsciously without you even knowing. And that is how people look up about it wanting to know more and buy the product. All the social media apps work in a similar manner targeting audience who use said applications. Facebook has recently been used by people of people from the previous generation. So ads relating to the products they would use of prefer works well on that platform.

Email Marketing: The oldest marketing strategy to attract audience is by sending them mails once they log in to the website to purchase. In fact all these websites that sell clothes use the email marketing because the target audience have already once purchased from their website so its easier to convince them to log in again to buy some more now that theres a discount in the whole website. Oldest method but you know what they said about old, its gold. It still promotes and gets the customers to shop from them.

Display Ads: These are not as effective as the previous two, because most of the people have built in ad blockers to protect them from ads that pop up so the target audience for this is the rest of the people without ad blockers. So many websites charge per click view to per thousand click views. Most of these ads are targeting people in the native area. for example a pop up ad that says a job vacancy near my location will only benefit people like me or people around me so they pop up only when they detect location so these ads can also be location wise. Even if they are not as effective as the others, it still makes the target audience that they require and intend to.

Advertising through websites: Certain popular websites pair with brands which help them promote their brand and these websites get paid for showing their product in their blog due to their massive amount of readers. Because of their reach, they can attract a lot of audience to the product making this a win-win situation. And thats how people advertise through websites to attract people into their brand or product

Video advertising: When it comes to video advertising, theres nothing that beats youtube. Many ads that you see right after you open youtube to watch a video, they contribute to the visuals, AKA video advertising. It is quite expensive but it is also very effective. If a food delivery system advertises on youtube, it gets more response because well, it does look quite tempting. And thats about video advertising

Influencers: If theres one thing I have learnt from social media is letting influencers advertise your product. If you take a popular celebrity and i’m not talking Rihanna or Selena Gomez popular but more of a few hundred thousand followers who still have a pretty good reach. If you send them your product or whatever you wanna advertise, then once they explain it to their audience, their fans or followers must be interested in buying or joining into the program. These days influencers have a lot of reach so the best way to get your product across is to send it to them and let them do their thing. Also because so many of their followers love to see and buy into what they wanna do so you’ve also got that. It is very easy to get in touch with them. Just email them in their business mail and they will respond to you right away. And thats how influencers get paid from social media as well

Mobile Ads: Mobile advertising is very simple. Once you go to a restaurant or a store, you sign up by giving your phone number so after that, when they have promo offers coming up, they either mail you or text you about them and if you are interested, you end up visiting. People have their phones on them 90 percent of the time so if an alert pops right up its a reflex to open and see what it could be and if you really wanna cave in, you eventually do and thats how mobile advertising gets their customers.

Blog advertising: It is a type of advertising that is told through story telling to bring in audience to buy the product or experience the experience. It can be a trip to a place or a makeup product that you have tried and want to write about it. Brands let famous bloggers write their review about the product for the audience to buy them. So if they really like the product that they have been sent, then they would write good reviews about them so that new people would try the product as well. Thats how advertising in blogs work.

How to do it:
Step 1:
Get an amazing website and work on it
It does not matter if the advertisement is effective or not, you’ve already succeeded if it reaches audience who’s age has been targeted. But what matters is – having a really cool website so its totally okay to invest in a good designer to design your website because people actually cave in if they like what they see.

Step 2:
Do a thorough investigation about the market and the product you’re trying to sell. Make sure to not have too many ideas, it’s important to have one and keep working forward to the goal. Select a micro niche and try to sell it. Try not to have too many ideas and end up ruining the one thing keeping you forward.

Step 3:
Be clear about the type of advertisement you want to tell your viewers about. Be clear about what message you want to put through and be very captive about the message. For example, keep a very striking one liner thats going to attract your target audience and be particular about it. The one liner should exactly describe what you are showing the audience. Visual image plays a huge role in the advertising that you do. People like to see visuals, thats what captivates them and attracts them to the website and product in the first place. The aesthetics of the product, how it looks and how pleasing it can be to the eye also plays an important role. So always think about the visuals and how it may look to different people. You can take a vote and decide which people like more and arrive to a conclusion as well. So invest in a good design and designer as it can be the one to take it to the next level.

Once you follow these steps, you can create traffic into your website and promote it to create more traffic and if you are content is as good as you think it is, then it can automatically create traffic by people clicking onto it and making it popular. These can also be used as click baits. Once you start getting traffic onto the website, then you can start earning money as well. More traffic into the website also means more money so always best to get traffic into the website.

Pay per click is also a method of online advertising option where in search engines like google charges the company when there is a click on the page that they are using. It is an effective method because people use google, Facebook and so many social media so its one way to promote the product you are trying to sell. But like pop up ads, these can also be blocked by many people to stop receiving pop up ads so it can’t be as effective as the other methods as well. 40% of the American population has blocked these pop up ads so it might not be as effective as it used to be.

So there you have it folks!
